The discussion opened with a short note about attention spans, courtesy of Hammad Rasheed. A general objective was decided; of discussing literature in its many forms (Books/Films/Poetry) and a bi weekly analysis of the media we have consumed. The Discussion started with Salikah Murtaza talking about "Ikigai", a self help book by Francesc miralles. She talked about the rules discussed in the book and gave an overview of how these books can provide both the tool to betterment and the motivation for betterment. Other books discussed were "dozakhnama" by Rabisankar Bal and "The Godfather" by Mario Puzo. These books were discussed by Ayeza Hassni, where themes of Authority and literature were touched upon. After this, Yanzila Khan talked about "Rang De Basanti", a Thriller-Patriotic movie starring Amir Khan. Next, Mirza Baig talked about "Vikings", a netflix series revolving Greek Mythology. Other books, such as "a secret garden" (discussed by Azmeena Rao), "and then there were none" (discussed by Areesha Hassni), "the diary of Anne Frank"(discussed by Maryam Rehan), "The alchemist" (discussed by Rija Rao) and Yusuf bin tashfeen by Naseem Hijazi alongside Angan by Khadija Mastoor (reviewed by Mubashira Hammad) were also talked about. The discussion ended after 11:30 pm with some suggestions, such as "The Sealed Nectar" by Safi-Ur-Rehman, and the suggestion of inviting more students in the age range of 12-24, so as to encourage speaking and literary discussions in the younger generation. .
